Bettina Steiger artist

Bettina Steiger is a German abstract artist who has been based in Muscat for over a decade. She works primarily in acrylics, acrylic inks, and watercolours, and her paintings are directly drawn from Oman’s landscapes — wadis, desert dunes, the Hajar Mountains, coastal stretches — interpreted through an abstract lens that’s entirely her own. She uses brushes, palette knives, and sometimes her hands, occasionally incorporating locally harvested sea salt and other materials into the work.

Bettina has exhibited widely in Muscat, including solo shows at Matti Sirvio Gallery, and in March 2025 presented “Oman in Abstract” — a solo exhibition opened by the German Ambassador to Oman.
