Terms & Conditions
Last reviewed: March 2026
These terms apply to all members of the Women’s Guild in Oman (WGO). By joining and maintaining membership with WGO, you agree to abide by the rules and expectations set out below. The committee may update these terms from time to time — members will be notified of any significant changes.
1. Membership
Membership is open to all individuals regardless of age, nationality, race, or religious conviction. Annual membership fees must be paid to maintain active membership status. Fees are non-refundable once paid.
Prospective members are welcome to attend up to two Wednesday coffee mornings before joining. After that, membership is required to continue attending.
Members in good standing may stand for committee positions.
2. Conduct and Respect
WGO is a non-political, non-denominational organisation. Members are expected to conduct themselves with courtesy and respect toward one another at all times — at events, in communications, and on social media.
Discussions or activities of a divisive political or religious nature are not permitted. Members should also respect the laws, customs, and traditions of the Sultanate of Oman.
Confidentiality should be maintained regarding personal matters shared within the group. The committee may review any concerns related to these standards and, where necessary, take action regarding membership.
3. Events and Activities
Members are encouraged to RSVP promptly for events to help with planning and catering. Where you need to cancel, please do so as early as possible.
Photography takes place at WGO events. If you would prefer not to be photographed, please let the organisers know at the event. For guidance on how WGO uses photographs, see the Privacy Policy.
Children are welcome at family-friendly events but remain the responsibility of their parents or guardians at all times.
Additional costs for specific events will be communicated in advance. Payment is required by the specified deadline.
4. Communications
Members should keep their contact information up to date with the membership coordinator. Official WGO communications are sent via email and social media.
Members are expected to use respectful language in all WGO communications, including on online platforms.
5. Social Media
Members are welcome to share photos and experiences from WGO events on their personal social media — please tag WGO when you do. Please be mindful of others’ privacy and ask permission before posting any identifiable photos of fellow members.
The official WGO social media pages are managed by designated committee members only.
6. Guests
Members may bring guests to designated open events. Guests remain the responsibility of the member who invited them.
7. Committee and Governance
WGO is governed by an elected committee. Committee decisions are made in the best interests of the membership and the organisation as a whole.
These terms may be reviewed and amended by the committee as needed. Members will be notified of any significant changes.
For any questions about these terms, contact the WGO committee via the details on our website.
