Arabian Nights Resort & Spa is a luxury eco-resort sitting 27km into the Wahiba Sands from Bidiyah — around two and a half hours from Muscat. Getting there is part of the experience: you’ll need a 4WD for the desert sand track in, and the resort can arrange a transfer if needed.
The resort has 31 rooms and villas with dune views, a swimming pool, the Rimaal restaurant, a bar, spa and outdoor fire areas. Activities include camel rides, dune bashing, sandboarding, fat bike riding, desert trekking, quad biking, sunset drives and visits to a traditional Bedouin house. Glamping options are also available for those who want a fully immersive desert night under the stars.
It’s ideally placed as a base for exploring Wadi Bani Khalid and Wadi Tiwi, both within day-trip distance.
