Environmental Society of Oman (ESO)

Description

The Environmental Society of Oman (ESO) is Oman’s only non-profit organisation focused on conserving the country’s natural environment. Founded in 2004, it’s been a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) since 2009.

ESO runs research programmes on threatened and endangered species, conservation field work, education initiatives, and public workshops and events covering topics such as sustainability, biodiversity, marine conservation and environmental careers. Workshops have brought together environmental activists, industry leaders and community members — and are open to anyone with an interest in Oman’s natural heritage.

If you’re interested in Oman’s wildlife, its marine environment, or sustainability more broadly, ESO’s workshops are a practical and interesting way to get involved.
